We wanted to provide clarity about the process for securing signatures for the Department of Driver’s Services Certificate of Enrollment from the school. This form can be downloaded from the DDS website. It is required for any child under the age of 18 who is trying to get a learner’s permit or driver’s license.
The student is to complete the top 2 sections.
Effective January 21st, they will bring the form to the registrar’s office on the 1st floor. There is a 24-hour turnaround time for completion of the form by the school officials. The form will be signed by a school official and then that official’s signature will be notarized by one of the 4 notary publics we have on staff. (Note it is the school official’s signature that is being notarized; that is why the form needs to be notarized at school.) The form is only good for 30 days from the date it was signed.
As this is a time-consuming process for our staff and it requires them to take time away from other tasks, North Atlanta High School will now charge $3 per Certificate of Enrollment to be processed. This payment can be made electronically or with cash only. Here is the link to the online payment.
If the payment is made in cash, the payment will be logged on a form and the money will be deposited at the end of every day. These funds will be directly deposited into the general local school funds account. These funds help support the day to day operations of the school.
If you have any questions about this process, please feel free to speak with Meredith Kaltman, School Business Manager.
