Announcements – Tuesday - AM 3/9/10

No JV Baseball practice today. Practice will resume tomorrow.

All international visitors please report to the IS office in room 332.

Earth night is March 30th. All entries for the competition will be accepted until March 22nd.

Gustavus Adolphus College will visit North Atlanta today at 9:30 am. If you are interested, please stop by the college zone to sign up.

Students, this is a reminder that the college zone is open on Tuesday thru Thursday of each week from 11:30 to 4:30 pm. We are closed on Mondays and Fridays. Consultations are available during A lunch and after school.

There will be a FBLA meeting on Tuesday, March 9th at 3:30 pm in Dr. Maze’s room. All members must attend.

Congrats to Cydney Gillon placing 1st in her heat of the 100 and 300 meter hurdles and 2nd overall on Saturday, March 6th. Congrats to Chelsea Tanner for placing 2nd in the 100 meter dash, Shaquoin Glover for placing 1st in the 400 meter dash and to I’isha Langford for placing 3rd in the 400 meter.

Be sure to attend GGT tutorial all week and collect your ticket. We will have extra prizes drawn this Friday. $25 gift card anybody?

Announcements – Friday - PM 3/5/10

Congratulations to Michael Obacha and Austin Allen who have been named to the all region team. All varsity basketball players are to report to Coach Gaines on Monday at 3:30 pm.

All track members please report to Coach Purnell’s room immediately following school.

Attention boys and girls soccer teams. Please be dressed and on the field by 3:30 pm for your team yearbook picture.

Congratulations to the NAHS festival singers and the women’s chorus – Excellent rating at the GMEA Festival and sight reading. Superior and Excellent.

Announcements – Wednesday - AM 3/3/10

Congratulations to Demetrice Dewberry who was selected as the winner of the 2010 Global Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award sponsored by Goldman Sachs Foundation! She will receive $500 for her business and an all expense paid trip to New York where she will be honored at Youth Entrepreneurs annual gala. She will be representing the State of Georgia. Congratulations!

There will be an important FBLA meeting for all members Tuesday, March 9th at 3:30 in Dr. Maze’s room. Please be on time.

The Winter Sports Banquet will be held Tuesday, March 9th at 7:00pm in the lecture hall.  All those athletes and their families who participated in a winter sport are invited to come and join in on the celebration of a great season had by many a team.  All student-athletes attending are expected to dress professionally.  Tickets will be sold at the door-$10.00 for adults, $5.00 for students, winter athletes free of charge.

All Key Club members attending convention next week please see Ms. Howard. All registration fees are due no later than Thursday, March 4th.

Are you ready for Prom? Mark your calendars for Tuesday, March 16th to visit our prom expo in the cafeteria. Don’t forget to pay your prom fees by Friday, March 5th while they are still $75. After March 5th your prom fees will be $100. All students who have paid their prom fees by the 16th will have a change to win a free tuxedo rental and a prom dress from Macy’s.

Student Wellness Ambassadors will meet tomorrow after school for a very important meeting. All trained SWA’s must attend!

Avatar Club will meet Thursday after-school in the media center.

Announcements – Monday - PM 2/8/10

Students every time you are late to class and incur a tardy it goes on your attendance report. 4 Tardies = an absence and 10 unexcused absence mean no attendance verification for a learner’s permit or drivers’ license.

Seniors – there will be a Financial Aid workshop for you and your parents presented by Georgia Student Finance tonight, at 6:30pm in the Lecture Hall.

The school store will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and the last Friday of the month during both the A & B lunches.

Writing club will meet today at 3:20 in the media center conference room.

Students be sure to collect your tutorial ticket at every session that you attend. Prize drawing every Friday. GO Warriors – Pass + the GGT

Congratulations to Chris Henderson, N. Atlanta’s first region 5 AAA Area Champion.

Mandatory wrestling tutorial will be held in Ms. Gibson’s/Coach Greathouse’s class room on the 3rd floor today immediately after school. All those wrestlers competing in the State Sectionals as well as those who are not playing a spring sport are expected to attend.

Congratulations to NAHS Wrestlers David Fair, Nick Middlebrooks, Chris Henderson Chaz Moulder and Clyde Thomas all qualified for the State Sectional Wrestling Tournament.

Listen up Warriors this is just for you – Valentine’s Day is almost here. Buy a shout-out to yourself, a friend or that special someone to be played on Friday, February 12th in the cafeteria during A & B lunch. Pick your favorite songs from a student created play-list. Stop by the media center to pick up the play list and to purchase your shout out. Buy 2 songs for only $1.00 and one song for only 75 cents! Help Key Club support Prom.

Be My Valentine! The Valentine’s Day store will be pre-selling great items during A & B lunch in the media center. Get something special for the ones you lve.

Support the Baseball team fundraiser. Orders for Rhodes Bakery Heart Shaped Cookies and fresh roses are being taken now. Order forms are in the main office to pre-order or bring your money to lunches on Wednesday.

Spring Sports Kick off and chili potluck will be Thursday, February 11th at 6 pm. This is a mandatory meeting for any student participating in a spring sport along with their parent or guardian.

The IB parent student meeting will be on Thursday following the sports booster kick off on Thursday. Please mark your calendar and bring some chili to share.

Students interested in going on the spring break east coast tour of colleges, please stop by the college zone to sign up. Deadline is February 15th.
